Meet Dr. Rachel Shackelford

Rachel Shackelford, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2023. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with an Emphasis in Health Science from the University of Nebraska - Kearney in 2019.

Dr. Shackelford is currently a resident at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, specializing in primary care and ocular disease. She was recognized as the 2024 Heart of America Eye Care Congress Top 5 Poster Winner and is a member of the Gold Key Society and Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society.

With a primary interest in pediatrics and binocular vision, Dr. Shackelford is committed to promoting routine ocular health assessments to safeguard her patients' overall health. She believes in the importance of early detection and treatment to preserve vision and overall well-being.

In her free time, Dr. Shackelford enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and designing pages for her book journal.
